Please be advised that the surgery is closed on bank holidays. If you need medical attention please dial 999 in an emergency, or 111 for medical treatment that cannot wait until the surgery is open again.

We do have Darwin Health Ltd Extended Access appointments running at Marden Medical Practice. You can book into these appointments by ringing the practice.

 Whilst we have the eConsult facility on our website please be advised that the response time is 48 working hours. eConsult is only available during working practice hours e.g. not evenings or weekends. If you need medical attention “out of hours” then please call 111. Thank you.

Please consider using these services before visiting Accident and Emergency Department -

  •  contact NHS 111 on 111
  • attend Walk In centre at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital between 8 am and 8 pm.

The surgery closes for 3 afternoons a year for protected learning sessions.  On these occasions there will be a message on our telephone system advising patients of contact telephone numbers.  If you cannot wait until we re-open, please telephone NHS Direct on 111. 

 

 

 

Repeat Prescriptions

From 12.4.18 the answerphone service will be switched off.  To order prescriptions by telephone you will have to call a new number  - 0333 358 3509, known as the POD (local call rate).  A call handler will answer your call and go through your repeat prescription request.  The service operates from 9-5 pm Mon to Friday.

Alternatively you can order repeat prescriptions online via the link above.  New users will need to complete a registration form.

Nice_vlue_pillsIn addition you may also leave your request for a repeat prescription at reception or post it to the surgery.  Tick the items you need on the right-hand section of your previous prescription form. We can post it back to you if you provide a stamped, addressed envelope.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
