Please be advised that the surgery is closed on bank holidays. If you need medical attention please dial 999 in an emergency, or 111 for medical treatment that cannot wait until the surgery is open again.

We do have Darwin Health Ltd Extended Access appointments running at Marden Medical Practice. You can book into these appointments by ringing the practice.

 Whilst we have the eConsult facility on our website please be advised that the response time is 48 working hours. eConsult is only available during working practice hours e.g. not evenings or weekends. If you need medical attention “out of hours” then please call 111. Thank you.

Please consider using these services before visiting Accident and Emergency Department -

  •  contact NHS 111 on 111
  • attend Walk In centre at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital between 8 am and 8 pm.

The surgery closes for 3 afternoons a year for protected learning sessions.  On these occasions there will be a message on our telephone system advising patients of contact telephone numbers.  If you cannot wait until we re-open, please telephone NHS Direct on 111. 

 

 

 

Appointments flu_shot

We run all our surgeries by an appointment only system. We try to make sure you see the doctor of your choice but if they are not available we may ask you to see another doctor. 

Patients who need to see a doctor urgently will always be seen the same day although it may not be with your choice of doctor.  Please tell the receptionist that your need is urgent.

The doctor appointments are 12 minutes long, please do ask if you would like a double appointment.

Weekend Appointments Available:

We are pleased to advise that cervical screening appointments are also available at weekends via the extended access service run by Darwin Health.  This is a group of local practices working together to offer patients ‘extended access’ to pre-bookable appointments held at different surgeries in the locality.  Appointments can be booked by ringing our reception team and asking for an appointment in the extended hours service.

Medical Education

We sometimes teach medical students and occasionally you may be asked to see the doctor or nurse with a student present. You will always be asked beforehand if this is acceptable and you may ask for the student to withdraw if you prefer to have your consultation in private.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
